usdt on tron vs solana for deposits, what's cleaner

Settling a small debate I keep having with myself. For depositing USDT, do you go TRC-20 or Solana, and why.
My read so far: TRC-20 fees are a few cents and basically every offshore site lists a Tron address, so it just works. Solana is faster and even cheaper but I've hit two sites that only show ERC-20 and TRC-20, no SOL option, so I'm stuck bridging or paying ETH gas.
The thing that actually bites people is sending USDT on the wrong network to an address that only watches one chain. Lost a deposit credit for two days once because I sent Solana USDT to what was a Tron-only deposit flow. Got it sorted but ugh.
So which do you default to, and have you had a site credit slowly on one vs the other?
